Avoiding The Dental Chair

Updated: Oct 13, 2018

Its no secret that most people are not particularly fond of going to the dentist. In fact, if I had a dollar for every time someone told me, “Ugh, I hate the dentist!” I could probably retire from dentistry!

While no one really enjoys seeing the dentist, it is an integral part of maintaining your overall health. Many studies show a correlation between heart disease and oral health. Something to think about next time you put off your hygiene appointment or cancel that root canal!

If I could convince those who eagerly tell me how much they hate the dentist that waiting to treat a problem never makes it easier and in truth will likely exacerbate the issue- I could, in my humble opinion, significantly improve the overall health and wellness of many, many people. So, give me a second while I step up onto my soap box...

If you have a tooth ache, bleeding gums, or it’s just been a while since you have had a check-up, go ahead and schedule an appointment with your dentist. You could avoid that tooth ache lurking around the corner and it will help maintain or restore your smile.

A good mentor used to tell me, “If you treat all patients the same, you are treating most patients wrong.” A good dental treatment plan should be comprehensive and tailored to your individual needs. If your dental treatment plan involves several procedures- then each procedure should be prioritized while taking into careful consideration your long-term goals and current financial needs.

If you are looking for a dentist, I would love to see you at Central Oaks Dental Care. While I cannot promise that it will always be fun, I can assure you that I will do everything we can to make sure that your dental needs are being met. If today is the day that you are finally ready to stop avoiding the dental chair, give us a call at (225) 262-4150 !
